Obituary of Grace M. Baderman

Grace M. Baderman, 99, former longtime resident of Rodman, died Tuesday at the Samaritan Keep Home in Watertown. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Friday at the Piddock Funeral Home, Adams, with Jane Eastham officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Rodman. Calling hours will precede the funeral beginning at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Born October 10, 1917 in Rodman, daughter of F. Madison and Sarah May (Reed) Kenfield, she graduated from Adams Center High School in 1937. After graduation she worked as a housekeeper for the Waite families in Adams. She married Albert G. Baderman on September 14, 1940 at the home of her parents. The couple purchased a farm on County Route 69 in Rodman, which they operated until they sold it to their son Arthur in 1981. Following the death of her husband in 2000, she remained at home, later moving to Samaritan Keep in March 2011. Mrs. Baderman is survived by two sons and daughter’s in law, Arthur F. and Susan, Rodman, Robert G. and Judy, Canton; seven grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren, one sister Lois Isham, Dexter, and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by two brothers, Gordon and Graydon Kenfield. She and her husband traveled to Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Bahamas and the majority of the United States. She was a member of the Farm Bureau, Cornell Co-operative Extension Service, Rodman Community Church, Rodman and Jefferson County Republican Committees, a charter member of the Rodman Fire Department Auxilary, and a life member of the South Jefferson Historical Society. She was also a former secretary and treasurer of the Rodman Fairview Cemetery Association.
