We are heartbroken to learn of Brian's passing. We spent many months on the slopes together. If there is a kinder, gentler, and more genuine individual on this earth we haven't met him. We only spent a couple years with Brian and feel like we were truly blessed. Our lives were enriched for knowing him. We had so much fun hanging out with Pam and the kids. We will continue his legacy and spend our lives helping those in need, just as Brian so faithfully did. The world is a dimmer place in his absence.

Dear Pam and family,
My heart breaks for you. Still trying to process this sad news. So many memories of our times together. Good times in Emmaus kitchen will never be forgotten. Ed always felt so blessed to have met Brian that first time at Aldersgate and then to have sponsored you both for the Emmaus weekend was a joy for us both. You are in my thoughts and prayers everyday. I am sorry I can't be there, so am sending my love with George Bush to give to you.
(Ed and Brian are having a great time together again.)
Let the peace of God enfold you and give you strength for the time ahead.
Lots of Love,

Dear Thomas Family,
We are so very sorry for this terrible heartache that you are all feeling...Please know that all of his friends are also hurting and at a loss for words. Brian touched so many people in so many different ways, through his many acts of kindness, and varied talents. We have been fortunate enough to serve and work along side him in many Church events, dinners, etc., and also as trustees of the Adams Rural Cemetery where we have spent many hours caring for that special place. He certainly had a vast amount of knowledge and willingness to make a difference here in Adams. May God give you all comfort during this unbearable time...
with love, Gerald and Val

I am heartbroken to hear of Brian's passing. All of you will be continually lifted in prayer. I met Brian through the Closer Walk. He teamed on my weekend, and he especially spent time with me, praying with and guiding me. I accepted Jesus into my life that weekend, now I am a Pastor. Brian was a big part of that, and I am forever thankful. I look forward to seeing him again, but will miss him until then. Sending my love to all of you from Cortland.

Don and I were shocked to learn of Brian's death. Our heartfelt sympathy and prayers of comfort go out to all of you. In speaking with each other about Brian's involvement in the life of the Adams UMC, we were reminded that your wedding was the first one Don officiated at after coming to Adams. Brian's faith was manifested in all he did for others and in the organizations he chose to affiliate with; those where he could help others and sharing his talents. He was a good and faithful servant of the God that he loved. On a personal note I want to say how much I appreciated the respectful way he treated my mother each time he stopped by to visit with her regarding church business or just say hello. Lean on God's strength during your difficult and dark hours, He will not foresake you. Peace and love be with you.

Dear Pam and children, I know there is nothing I can say that will help relieve your pain. I worked with Brian for 15 years and enjoyed every minute of it. He was personable, professional in every way and just a good person to be around. There were so many sides to Brian that I didn't know: I didn't know he was 46er, I didn't know he was on the Dry Hill Ski Patrol. He was obviously able to separate his personal life and his working life, and since he was a very private person I can understand that. But I don't know anyone who knew the end was coming. It just doesn't fit Brian.
I wish you strength and courage to continue on and I hope you are blessed with many good times in the future. You surely deserve that!
I feel horrible, but I will not be able to make any of Brian's services. We are leaving on Wednesday for a trip to Europe so I must offer my condolences in this manner rather than in person.

Pam and kids: I was devastated to hear of Brian's death, and my heart goes out to you all. You were wonderful neighbors and reliable friends, and my thoughts go back to the many acts of kindness that Brian performed -- emergency plowing, helping me load the moving van in a difficult time, just his winning smile and happy presence. He was a true Adams hero, throwing himself into village government, the Boy Scouts, the Rescue Squad and his family. I am acutely aware of your loss, and wish for you a speedy progression to that place where the pain is supplanted by loving memory.
