Obituary of Henry W. Rogers II
Henry W. “Hank” Rogers II, 51, of Smithville, died Thursday August 17, 2017 at his home where he had been under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County. Calling hours will be Thursday from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Piddock Funeral Home, Adams. His funeral service will be 11:00 am Friday at the funeral home, with Rev. Al Dowker, pastor of the Honeyville Baptist Church and longtime friend, officiating.
Following the burial in the Smithville Cemetery, there will be a gathering the Smithville Fire Hall.
Born September 16, 1965 in Watertown, son of Henry W. and Delores (Wilder) Rogers, he attended Watertown High School. Following school he worked as a grounds keeper at Brookside Cemetery in Watertown from 1986-1988, then went to work for Schwann’s Food Company for several years. Hank also did farming at various local farms. In 2001 he began doing electrical work at DEMCO Electric in Syracuse, NY, retiring in 2015 due to ill health.
Hank married Lisa A. Weldon of Smithville on June 29, 1985 at the Smithville Baptist Church. The couple have lived in Smithville their entire married life.
Surviving besides his wife Lisa, is one daughter Elizabeth (Jason) Anderson, and grand daughter, Ella Anderson, all of Elba, NY; one brother James Rogers, Adams; one sister Gail Rogers-Reczko, Anderson, SC; three brothers in law David Price, Pillar Point, Scott (Angie) Weldon, Lorraine, Andrew (Danielle) Weldon, Smithville; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents, one sister Deborah Price and one brother in law Dan Rogers-Reczko.
Hank was a member of the Smithville Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
