Our condolences to Jerry, Pat and family. I know how much you both sacrificed to keep Bob in his beloved home for as long as he was able. Fond memories of the afternoon meetings at Bob's kitchen, swapping stories, adventures and tall tales. His warm smile, friendly greetings and jokes will be missed.
May God's love comfort & bless you!
Cliff & Candy

Herb would join me in conveying my condolences on the passing of one of his favorite teachers. I know there will be many "remember when" conversations in their reunion. We always enjoyed our get togethers in their last few years. Beulah

I have no idea what a "symbolic gesture" is in the case of an online condolence board, but Grandpa fell in love with NBA basketball at about the age of 80, I think partly because I was always watching it, so here's a basketball for my namesake.

Dear Jerry and Patricia, It was with sadness, but fond memories as I heard of Bob's passing. In my first year of teaching and coaching(1957) I would drive to Rodman to teach P.E. to your Dad's students - what a fun time we always had. Then, I was so fortunate to have you as a student athlete on my first teams. And you were outstanding in both ability and character. We were all so blessed to have Bob in our lives.

Jerry & Family, I'm sorry to hear about your Dad. There are always good memories when our parents got together, even though we were in the Insurance Business I can't remember them talking Insurance when they were together. Take Care.

Many of my favorite elementary school memories include Mr. Merrill. I remember him allowing us to be ourselves in the class room, as long as our work was on time and completed. I still remember the soothing sound of his voice. Mr. Merrill had a true passion for teaching. I have often wondered about him. I am happy that he had such a fulfilling life. He will be missed by his family, former students, and anyone who ever met him.
To this day, I will not do a crossword puzzle in pencil.

So sorry to hear my old neighbor has passed. He was a wonderful man and I know although he lived a long life, it was an awesome life and many will be grieved. I send my condolences to the family, and the community at large as we all remember and mourn the loss. In knowing that he is joining others that have passed I hope that we all can be comforted knowing that he is together again with Marge, Judy and the other folks that we have lost along the way. It will be a great union someday. Until then take care and God Bless.

I remember "Mr Merrill" well as he was my 4-6th grade teacher and Dorothy Thomas being his counterpart with grades 1-3.I think some of my best memories were made at Rodman school.Of course we all had to watch our "P's and Q's" around Mr Merrill. I don't think I have square danced or played dodge ball since I left that school. What great memories!! He was quite a man.

So very sorry to read of your loss, Jerry. You were such a good son for many, many years. I would assume you wrote his obituary as it's full of cute details making me feel as if I knew him. And if you got your sense of humor from your dad, do you think he left us 4 days before completing his 100th year on purpose? Did you threaten him with a party? Sounded like quite a fellow who I am sure will be sadly missed.
