Obituary of Evelyn Y. LaVere
Evelyn Mary Young LaVere joined her lord and many loved ones gone before her on May 4, 2018.
Evelyn was born in Copenhagen, NY on May 12, 1928. She was the daughter of William and Mary Thesier Young. She graduated at the age of 17 from Copenhagen Central School. She married George Edwin LaVere on June 17, 1946 at the Catholic Church in New Boston. They enjoyed many happy years of marriage and together raised five children.
After retiring from her job as a telephone operator, Evelyn spent her years caring for her family and sharing her love with all those fortunate enough to know her. She will forever be remembered for her kind smile, her loving ways and of course, her cookies and popcorn balls. Her display of patience was ever present during hunting season, trapping season, and any other season that justified a trip to camp.
Evelyn spent her final years under the loving care of her family, specifically her children Ed, Mark and Chrissy, to whom the remainder of the family will forever be grateful.
She is survived by her children, Carol Mary (Gary) Sweeney, Edwin George, Mark Todd, Darlene Ann Jobson, and Christine Lynn LaVere-Reigle, as well as her seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her husband George, three brothers- Raymond, Richard and Kenneth Young, and her parents.
