Obituary of Lynda S. Burns
Lynda S. Burns, 75, of Watertown, (formerly, Casselberry FL), passed away peacefully on Monday, August 19, 2019 at the Samaritan Medical Center. Following a brief illness, she was surrounded by family and friends.
Lynda was born April 20, 1944 in Watertown, NY. She was the daughter of Richard L. and Jane (Kilburn) Snyder. She was a graduate of Adams High School, and attended Oswego State College and Jefferson Community College where she earned her LPN license.
She married James "Chuck" Burns of Adams. The marriage ended in divorce but they remained friends.
In 1982, Lynda moved to Central Florida with her daughters where she pursued her nursing career working private duty nursing, as well as working at assisted living facilities and nursing homes.
In 2003, Lynda was given the blessing of being a grandmother to her one and only grandchild, a granddaughter, Cheyenne. Until her unexpected passing she spent all of her cherished time with her daughters and granddaughter.
In July 2019, Lynda, along with her daughters and granddaughter, moved back home to complete her journey to be closer to family and friends.
Lynda is survived by two daughters, Janessa L. Burns and Nancy J. Hammond, both of Watertown, NY (formerly, Casselberry, FL); one granddaughter, Cheyenne W. Stanley of Watertown (formerly, Casselberry, FL); two brothers Bernard "Benny" Snyder, Auburn, Robert Snyder, Adams; and several nieces and nephews.
With respect to Lynda's wishes, there will be no calling hours, but instead a Celebration of Life gathering to be held privately at the family's convenience.
