Obituary of Josiah W. Wilder
Josiah W. "Joe-Joe" Wilder, 60, of Jefferson Courts, Adams Center, passed away Monday August 23, 2021 at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, following a brief illness.
Born July 17, 1961 in Watertown, son of Garner and Beatrice (Dingman) Wilder, he attended school in Rochester, NY. He was also a member of the DPAO in Watertown.
Joe is survived by his wife Karen Wilder, Watertown; his sisters Lottie Moore, Lorraine, Delores Wilder, Watertown, Evelyn Wilder, Watertown, Ruth White, Tylerville, Connie Lee, Rochester, Ruby Moore, Watertown and Diane Smith, Tylerville. Also his aunt and uncle Viola and Robert Martin, Carthage, who he resided with through his teen years, and his best friend, brother, cousin Robert L. "Bobber" Martin Jr and his wife Kelly, Adams Center, who he was currently residing with; several aunts, uncles, and a niece and cousins he thought the world of Emaleigh Baxter, Carthage, Danycka Martin, Nolin Martin, Billy Barnett-Martin, Keyaira Barnett, Nicholas Shattuck, Nathan Shattuck and Brandon Barnett, all of Watertown; along with several other cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents Beatrice and Garner Wilder, his maternal and paternal grandparents, and two brothers Bruce Baxter and Garner Knapp.
Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family.
There will be a memorial service 1:00 pm Friday September 3 at the Piddock Funeral Home, Adams, with Jeff Smith, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Watertown, officiating. Burial will be at a later time. Calling hours will begin at 11:00 am prior to the service.
