Obituary of Marianne P Howlett

Marianne P. Howlett, 90, of Adams Center, died Wednesday evening September 25, 2024 at Samaritan Summit Village, Watertown, NY. Calling hours will be from noon to 2:00 pm on Saturday October 5 at the Piddock Funeral Home, Adams, NY. Private burial will be held later in the Pulaski Village Cemetery, Pulaski, NY. Arrangements are with the Piddock Funeral Home Inc, Adams, NY. Born May 16, 1934 in Hartford, Connecticut, daughter of William and Anne DePardo, following her graduation from high school, Marianne earned her nursing degree at St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing in Massachusetts. She married Charles Howlett on September 25, 1955 in MA. The couple lived in various areas throughout New York State before settling in Adams Center in 1977, where they lived the rest of their married life. They enjoyed traveling and especially taking cruises with her sisters and their husbands. Following the death of her husband on October 7, 2019, she continued living at their home until her passing. Marianne is survived by two sons Charles (Grace) Howlett, VA, Steven (Sheri) Howlett, ID; two daughters Linda (Marcus) McCormick, VA, Nancy (Matthew) Maryhugh, Watertown, NY; twelve grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a brother William DePardo; and two sisters Angelina Waitkewich and Lucille Duquette. Marianne worked over twenty-five years at BOCES in Watertown. After she retired in 2000, the bond that she developed with six of her co-workers never faltered. As a group or separately, they enjoyed getting together regularly for cards, movies, dinners - always having a good time and with lots of laughter. Marianne was a member of the Sweet Adeline’s Barbershop Chorus, and the Watertown Teacher’s Bowling League.
