Obituary of Chase Koby O'Brien

Chase Koby O’Brien, 24, died Monday October 14, 2024 at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, NY, surrounded by his family. Chase was involved in a personal injury car accident earlier that morning. A graveside service will be held at the Fairview Cemetery, Rodman on Saturday October 19 at 3:00 pm, with Cathy Hamilton pastor officiating. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Piddock Funeral Home Inc, Adams, NY. Chase was born May 21, 2000 in Watertown, NY, to the parents of Tobin J. O’Brien and Rebecca M. Houghton. Following his graduation from South Jefferson Central School in 2020, he worked for Meals on Wheels in Watertown, then started his own business, Chase O’Brien Mobile Detailing, and also worked at Yard/Home Helpers, Watertown, NY. He is survived by his father Tobin O’Brien, Watertown; mother Rebecca Houghton, Adams; two brothers Collin Vautrin and Cohen Bolton, both of Adams; two sisters Heydin O’Brien and Torrin O’Brien, both of Adams Center; paternal grandparents Susan and Grant Crumb; paternal grandfather Shamus O’Brien; maternal grandparents Michael and Kristina Houghton; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He is predeceased by a maternal grandmother Sheryl Rounds, an uncle Jordan Houghton, and a paternal great grandmother Harriet Hockey who he was especially close with. Chase enjoyed working out, Mixed Martial Arts, hunting, animals and music, with freestyle rapping being his passion. He will be remembered as a kind, polite and well mannered person with a great sense of humor. He was always wanting to help people.
