Obituary of Jill D. Seaman

Mannsville - Jill Delorus Stuckey Seaman, 44, passed away on November 26, 2014 from complications due to Leukemia. Her funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm on Tuesday December 2 at the Mannsville United Methodist Church with John Nett officiating, immediately followed by a celebration of her life at the Mannsville Fire Hall. Calling hours will be Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Piddock Funeral Home, Adams. Burial will be in the spring in the the Maplewood Cemetery, Mannsville. Born October 8, 1970 in Watertown, daughter of Juanita Paddock Stuckey and the late James K. Stuckey, she was a 1988 graduate of South Jefferson Central School. Following graduation she worked in the office of Justice William Besaw, Mannsville, Lally’s Manufacturing, Adams and then spent the next thirteen years at Rod’s Big M Market, Adams, as a scanning coordinator. She married Douglas Seaman of Pulaski in August 1991. They have one son, Brandon Charles Seaman. Surviving besides her mother Juanita, Mannsville, are two brothers and sisters in law, Jay and Tammy (Cheney) Stuckey, Mannsville, James and Melissa (Good) Stuckey, Black River; her husband Douglas and son Brandon Seaman, Mannsville; and several cousins. She is predeceased by her father James K. Stuckey, who died in December 1979, her maternal grandparents, Jasper and Josephine Paddock, Mannsville, and paternal grandparents Edward and Joyce Stuckey, Henderson. Jill was stricken with Leukemia in December 2004. She had two bone marrow transplants - her first transplant was from her brother Jay as the donor, then six years later with a second donor from Germany. She had remained in remission until a few months ago when she was stricken again. Jill bravely fought her disease to watch her son grow up. She especially enjoyed watching him play sports and was a huge supporter of the Mannsville Youth and Little League Baseball and served as treasurer for the South Jefferson Shockers. She was a 14 year member of the Mannsville Fireman’s Auxilary. Jill enjoyed being out in the country where she could enjoy nature. Along with her flower gardening, she was a collector unique glass and antique eggs, including a Faberge Hummingbird collection, along with other Hummingbird collectables. Her family at this time would like to thank everyone along the way who helped and stood by Jill as she courageously battled her illness.
