I was saddened to learn of the passing of Mr. Caramanna. He was serving as the superintendent at Lyme Central School when I met him, and he hired me as a teacher there. It was my first teaching position, and he proved to be a great mentor for me. I still recall vividly several different lessons he imparted that I continue to share with my students today. Please accept my deepest condolences - you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Bob Oatman @ myself meet Pat at Mercers because he heard us talking about Nicolle and how much she helped us. Bob is 80 and I am 70 which advanced prostrate cancer that has metastasized. This happened about 1 and 1/2 years ago. He listened to us for about 10 min. @ then told us his relationship with her. Jill, his truck and the dog who ate (a lot of donuts) was great to tease him about. I walk on Church every day and he would stop to talk. Meeting him was great and I will miss him but thankful that I got to meet him. Our condolences.pG8N

I am so sorry to here of Pat's death. I'm sure he must have been a most devoted husband and father. You were certainly blessed to have had him in your lives. I managed the Stewart's Shop in Adams for a few years and Pat was always a most welcome guest as a customer and friend. Never an unkind word was spoken and he was always willing to lend a helping hand. Pat had a most cordial and gentle nature. When we moved from North Carolina we could have purchased a house in any area in Jefferson County. Per chance we happened upon a house in the town of Lyme. our due diligence required that we check out the school system and upon arrival at Lyme CSD the first person we met was the superintendent, Pat Caramanna. his warmth, humor, professionalism and approachability sealed the deal as to which community we were going to be move to. When my son broke his leg Pat drove him to All Saints when Lyme had a classroom there. Pat ran interference in helping us jump through SED red tape to get our son to play sports despite an eye injury. As a fellow school administrator I had the utmost respect for Pat both as an educator and a human being. he was one of the good guys and will be missed.

I'm sorry that he suffered with cancer, but I'll remember him as that "boisterous guy" who almost always had a smile on his face and share it with others.
Sincerely,
