My condolences to the Lassally family. Sorry to hear of your loss. Death always brings sorrow and pain but we can gain a measure of comfort in knowing that Jehovah God knows exactly how you feel because he also lost a loved one in death, his son Jesus Christ. God's sorrow and pain was only temporary because he resurrected his son from the dead and in the bible he holds out that wonderful hope to all those who have lost loved ones in death. At John 11:25 Jesus tells us "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life." Yes, we have the hope of seeing our loved ones again in the very near future when Jesus resurrects the dead. The bible also tells us that it will be at a time when "death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." - Revelation 21:3, 4. To learn more about this wonderful hope please visit jw.org and search, “When a loved one dies.”

Billy has been a family friend ever since my Dad was his teacher at Riverside Academy. Every time he came to Germany he would visit our family. Our fondest memory of him was when all of us gathered around a table to eat Chinese. He was such a kind, funny, and generous person; we will miss Billy. We feel so lucky that we got to know him. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

I have known Guillermo my whole life. My father was his teacher a Riverside and through him, my parents have met each other. It has been a long lasting friendship that no one can fill. "uncle Billy" you will be missed.
I heard your voice in the wind today
and I turned to see your face;
The warmth of the wind caressed me
as I stood silently in place.
I felt your touch in the sun today
as its warmth filled the sky;
I closed my eyes for your embrace
and my spirit soared high.
I saw your eyes in the window pane
as I watched the falling rain;
It seemed as each raindrop fell
it quietly said your name.
I held you close in my heart today
it made me feel complete;
You may have died...but you are not gone
you will always be a part of me.
As long as the sun shines...
the wind blows...
the rain falls...
You will live on inside of me forever
for that is all my heart knows.

Guillermo was my first roommate at Riverside Military Academy and we kept in touch for years afterwards, particularly when our sons were attending together in the `90's. I was so happy to see him and his family in person in Annapolis last year to help celebrate his and Beatriz' 50th wedding anniversary. I will miss him and on behalf of the RMA Class of 1962, I extend my deepest condolences to the Lassally family. Susan joins me in wishing you all well at this time of sorrow.
